Down to the Wire 5K and Fun Run
The Down to the Wire 5K and Fun Run takes place on May 17, 2026 at Wire Park in Watkinsville, Georgia. The event is hosted by NG3 and benefits Oconee County Schools and NG3, with proceeds directed to programs that support local students.
Two distances are offered:
- 1 Mile Fun Run
- 5K
Registration opens on April 4, 2026 and closes on May 8, 2026. Pricing listed for registrations through May 8, 2026 is $20 for the 1 Mile Fun Run and $25 for the 5K; prices increase after May 8, 2026 to $25 for the 1 Mile and $30 for the 5K. Registrations completed on or before April 30, 2026 are guaranteed a t-shirt; later registrants may receive a shirt based on availability. Race day registration and packet pick-up will be available.
Awards for the 5K include top three overall male and female finishers, and top three male and female finishers in these age groups: 8 and under, 9-14, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, and 70 plus.
