Down to the Wire 5K and Fun Run
The Down to the Wire 5K and Fun Run is a community running event on May 17, 2026 at Wire Park in Watkinsville, Georgia. The event is hosted by NG3 and supports Oconee County Schools and NG3 programs that benefit local students. It offers two distances and uses designated courses at Wire Park.
Registration opens April 4, 2026 and closes May 8, 2026. Early registration prices apply through May 8, 2026; prices increase after that date. Registration on or before May 4, 2026 guarantees a t-shirt; later registrations may receive a t-shirt if supplies remain.
Awards are given in the 5K race for top finishers overall and by age group. Overall awards are presented to the top three male and female finishers. Age group awards are presented to the top three male and female finishers in these groups: 8 and under, 9 to 14, 15 to 19, 20 to 29, 30 to 39, 40 to 49, 50 to 59, 60 to 69, and 70 and over.
