Event overview
The Down by The River races are scheduled for Sunday 8 March 2026 (permit applied for). The programme includes two distances:
- 10k
- 3k
Race headquarters is at Cambuslang Rugby and Sports Club, Langlea Rd, Cambuslang, G72 8HG. Entries will open on Entry Central and the entry link will appear on the organiser’s page when available. Event photos from previous years are available online.
Course, logistics and prizes
The course runs along the Clyde Walkway towards Glasgow and back. The walkway is fairly narrow in places and is not closed for the race; participants are asked to keep to the left and watch for walkers and cyclists. The start and finish are on Cambuslang Road at the junction of Clydesmill Drive.
There is no parking close to the start/finish. Competitors should park at the rugby and sports club and allow time to walk or jog to the start. If driving closer to the start is necessary, parking is available on Clydesmill Drive in the nearby industrial estate as shown on the event map.
Prizes are listed for both races. The 10k prize list includes cash awards for 1st to 3rd men and women and additional category and team prizes. The 3k offers cash prizes for 1st to 3rd men and women, plus spot prizes and bonuses for beating course records. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
