Down By The River Races

Down By The River comprises two road races taking place on 14 June 2026. The event offers a 10 km race and a 3 km race, with race headquarters at Cambuslang Rugby and Sports Club, Langlea Road, Cambuslang G72 8HG.

The route runs along the Clyde Walkway towards Glasgow and returns to the start. The walkway is fairly narrow in places and remains open to the public, so runners should be aware of walkers and cyclists. Organisers note the course as fast and flat and that it is generally quiet on a Sunday morning. The race start and finish are located on Cambuslang Road at the junction of Clydesmill Drive.

Parking is not available near the start and finish. Competitors are asked to use the rugby and sports club car park and allow time to walk or jog to the course. An alternative parking area is on Clydesmill Drive in the industrial estate, shown as a darker orange area on the event map.

Prizes are listed for both races. The 10 km prize list includes 1st male and female £100, 2nd £60, 3rd £40, category winners and team prizes. The 3 km prizes include cash awards for the top three in each gender. The event also offers a goodie bag, spot prizes, and a bonus for beating course records.
