Bedford Harriers AC is accepting entries for the Doug Anderson 5k, held in the grounds of Bedford Park on Wednesday 22 July 2026. The course is a measured two and a half lap route on wide asphalt paths, passing redwoods, a lake, a bandstand and a vintage cafe.
The race is limited to 450 entrants and the minimum age of competitors is 13 years on the day. All finishers receive a Doug Anderson 5K medal. The event incorporates the Bedfordshire AAA 5K County Championship.
Facilities listed for the event include toilets, medical provision, a water station, and chip timing from start to finish. The race includes age group and team awards, and marshals will provide support and encouragement on the course.
Entries are currently being taken via RaceResult. A £3 surcharge applies to on-the-day entries. If changes or transfers are needed, entrants should have received an email on 11 June 2026 with a revised link. Bedford Harriers AC operates a strict no head or earphones policy; any runner wearing non-medical or non-prescription hearing devices may be disqualified.
