The Doug Anderson 5k is organised by Bedford Harriers AC and takes place in the grounds of Bedford Park, Park Avenue, Bedford, MK40 2JZ on Wednesday 22 July 2026. The event incorporates the Bedfordshire AAA 5K County Championship.
The course is a measured two and a half lap route on wide asphalt paths. The park setting includes redwoods, a lake, a bandstand and a vintage cafe. The race is limited to 450 entrants and the minimum competitor age is 13 years on the day.
Facilities listed for the event include toilets, medical provision, a water station, AG and team awards, and chip timing from start to finish. Bedford Harriers marshals will provide support and encouragement around the course.
A strict no headphones policy applies: only medical or prescription hearing devices are permitted and any other head/earphones or similar equipment will lead to disqualification. If the event is cancelled for adverse weather, safety reasons or other circumstances beyond the organisers control there is no refund or deferment; transfers to another person are permitted via the registration email link and must be completed at least 30 minutes before the race.
