Doug Anderson 5k at Bedford Park

The Doug Anderson 5k is a measured 5 km race held on a two and a half lap course on wide asphalt paths in Bedford Park, Bedford, Bedfordshire. The route passes redwoods, a lake, a bandstand and a vintage cafe. The event is limited to 450 entrants and the minimum competitor age is 13 years on race day.

Race services include chip timing from start to finish, toilets, a water station, medical provision and age group and team awards. All finishers receive a Doug Anderson 5K medal. The race incorporates the Bedfordshire AAA 5K County Championship. Marshals from Bedford Harriers provide on-course guidance and encouragement.

Bedford Harriers operates a strict no head or earphones policy; only medical or prescription hearing devices are allowed. A surcharge of £3 applies to on-the-day entries.

Entry options shown by the organiser are: Unaffiliated entry (13+ years) at £18.00, and Affiliated entry (13+ years) at £16.00; affiliated entrants must belong to a club affiliated to ARC or UKA. Editing of personal details and transfer of entries is available but must be completed before 20 July 2026.
