Double Trouble 9 Mile & 18 Mile Trail Runs
This trail event takes place at French Creek State Park, pool area, in Elverson, PA. The course is a redesigned 9 mile loop that features rocks, downed trees, roots, ruts and other technical trail sections; the redesign removed three steep hills and made parts of the loop less technical. For 2026 the main loop will be run in a counterclockwise direction. The 18 mile option consists of two laps of the 9 mile course.
- 9 mile loop with rocks, downed trees, roots and ruts.
- 18 mile race of two laps of the 9 mile course.
Race operations include three water stops per loop, marked course, EMS on site, restroom facilities, parking, and post-race food. Results are provided instantly and posted the next business day. Awards are given for each distance and there are age-group awards; all participants are entered into the 9 mile results for scoring. To start a second lap for the 18 mile distance, runners must begin the lap within 2 hours 5 minutes of the 9 mile split; medical staff may stop runners judged unfit to continue. Registration is online only and closes at midnight the Wednesday before the race; a nominal service fee applies. Race day entries accept cash or check. The event is held rain or shine and may be adjusted for lightning or extreme heat. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
