6th Annual Don’t Lose Hope 5k : Run/Walk for Suicide Awareness
Child & Family Services presents the 6th Annual Don’t Lose Hope 5k, a community run/walk for suicide awareness held at Buttonwood Park in New Bedford. The event is a 5 kilometer run or walk that aims to raise awareness about mental health, reduce stigma, and provide a visible show of support and remembrance for those affected by suicide.
The meeting location is the corner of Lake Street and Buttonwood Street, behind Lawler Library. Race numbers and meal ticket pick-up for pre-registration are scheduled at Child & Family Services, 3057 Acushnet Ave in New Bedford on the Friday before the event. Same-day registration will be accepted. The deadline to receive a T-shirt with registration is Friday, September 1.
Event features include a post-race breakfast provided by Common Ground Catering, music from a DJ, a 360 photo booth, honor beads to show personal connection and remembrance, and a Kendra Scott pop-up with a custom piece where a portion of proceeds supports Child & Family Services. Awards will recognize the top three finishers in male and female age groups (25 & under, 26-44, 45 & up), top three overall male or female, and top three teams.
