Don't Lose Hope: 5k for Suicide Awareness
Don't Lose Hope: 5k for Suicide Awareness is the sixth annual run/walk held on Sunday, September 27, 2026, at Buttonwood Park on Rockdale Avenue in New Bedford, MA. The event is organized by Child & Family Services and centers on awareness and support related to suicide and mental health.
The event format is a 5K run/walk. Entrants receive an event t-shirt if registered before September 1, honor beads that indicate personal connections to loss or surviving a struggle, and a complimentary meal ticket provided by Common Ground Catering. Race numbers and meal ticket pick-up and pre-registration are scheduled for Friday, September 25 at the Child & Family Services office at 3057 Acushnet Avenue, New Bedford. The meeting location on race day is noted as the corner of Lake Street and Buttonwood Street, behind the Lawler Library by the Rotary.
Awards will recognize the top three finishers in each age and gender division (male and female groups: 25 and under, 26-44, 45 and up), the top three overall male or female, and the top three teams.
