6th Annual Don’t Lose Hope 5k
The 6th Annual Don’t Lose Hope 5k is presented by Child & Family Services as an event to raise awareness about suicide and reduce stigma around mental health. The 5k takes place on September 27, 2026, at Buttonwood Park in New Bedford. The meeting location is at the corner of Lake Street and Buttonwood Street, behind Lawler Library at the Rotary.
Pre-race packet pick-up and pre-registration pick-up are scheduled for Friday, September 25 at Child & Family Services, 3057 Acushnet Avenue, New Bedford. The deadline to receive a T-shirt with registration is Friday, September 1. Same-day registrations will be accepted.
Event features include a post-race breakfast served by Common Ground Catering, music provided by a DJ, a 360 photo booth, honor beads to signify personal connections and remembrance, and a pop-up by Kendra Scott offering a custom piece and a selection of jewelry with 20 percent of proceeds returning to Child & Family Services. Sponsorship and memorial sign opportunities are available.
Awards will recognize the top three finishers by male and female age groups 25 and under, 26 to 44, and 45 and up, plus the top three overall male and female finishers and the top three teams. Child & Family Services also notes its Adult and Youth Mobile Crisis Intervention provides 24/7 behavioral health crisis assessment, intervention, and stabilization services.
