Don's Backyard BBQ Trail Run
Don's Backyard BBQ Trail Run is a trail running event held on May 15, 2027 in Winder, Georgia at Charleston Park, with the course accessed near the UGA boat ramp. The course follows a clockwise direction for pre-running and uses a double-track off-road trail described as fast and flowing.
Two race distances are offered:
- 20K Trail Run
- 10K Trail Run
Race registration includes chip timing, a tri-blend event shirt, a free BBQ meal, professionally marked course, and medals for top finishers. Awards and prizes are planned for overall top finishers and for age-group placings; medals for age-group top three must be collected in person and will not be mailed.
The event is organized as repeated 5K segments. Each runner has 45 minutes (14 minute pace) to complete each 5K segment. If a runner does not complete a segment within the 45 minutes, they will be recorded as DNF for that segment with no exceptions. After the final segment is complete and results are tallied, a BBQ dinner and refreshments are served and awards are distributed. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
