27th Annual Donor Dash
The Donor Dash is a community event organized by Donor Alliance taking place in Washington Park, Denver. This event is held to honor organ and tissue donors, celebrate recipients, and recognize individuals waiting for lifesaving transplants. The course is established for both runners and walkers.
The event features a single distance:
- 5 km run/walk
Participants have several ways to engage with the community during the event. The Dashboard allows individuals to share photos and short messages about their personal connection to transplantation, which are displayed on race morning. A dedicated ribbon ceremony is held to recognize different connections to organ, eye, and tissue donation through specific ribbon colors.
Packet pickup is available in advance at the Donor Alliance office on Spruce Street or on the morning of the event at the park. Participants should note that registration is available on-site with an additional surcharge.
The venue is located at Washington Park with a start and finish line near the intersection of Franklin Street and Mississippi Avenue. Parking is available in a limited capacity at South High School, though organizers suggest carpooling due to road closures surrounding the park starting in the early morning.
