About the race
The Don Doan Dash takes place on Sunday, September 12, 2027, and offers 5K and 10K distances for runners and walkers. The event is based at Professor’s Lake Recreation Centre, 1660 North Park Road, Brampton, Ontario.
The course starts in the Professor’s Lake parking lot and follows a loop that runs out onto North Park Drive to a turnaround at Pleasant Valley Place, then returns along residential streets and a lakeside path around Professor’s Lake before finishing near the recreation centre. The route is generally flat with only a few small hills. Volunteers and first aid are available along the course.
Two water stations are provided at the 2.5K and 5K markers. Washrooms and changing facilities are available inside the recreation centre. A bag drop area is provided indoors.
Race kits are available for pickup in Mississauga at the Running Room or at Professor’s Lake on race morning. Each kit includes a bib with an integrated timing chip and a technical shirt; participants are asked to record emergency contact and allergy or health information on the back of their bib.
Strollers are permitted but should start near the rear; pets and roller blades are not allowed. A two hour time limit applies. All finishers receive a medal; top three male and female finishers receive awards and draw prizes are given post race. The event supports ALS Canada and has made past donations.
