Don Doan Dash
The Don Doan Dash is a running and walking event held in Brampton, Ontario. The race features a start and finish at the Professor’s Lake Recreation Centre. The course takes participants on a route around the lake, utilizing North Park Drive and surrounding park paths. The terrain is described as flat and fast, containing only a few small hills. As roadways remain open to traffic during the event, participants must stay on designated paths and sidewalks.
The event offers two distance options:
- 5 km
- 10 km
Runners and walkers are welcome to participate. Walkers are permitted provided they line up behind runners at the start; a two-hour time limit is enforced for all participants. Water stations are located at the 2.5 km and 5 km marks. Facilities at the recreation centre include washrooms, changing rooms, and a designated bag drop area. While strollers are allowed at the rear of the starting group, pets and roller blades are prohibited for safety reasons.
All finishers receive a medal upon completion. Awards are presented to the top three male and female finishers, and participants are eligible for post-race draw prizes. Race kits provided to participants include a technical shirt and a bib with an integrated timing chip. The event serves as a fundraiser for ALS Canada.
