Dion Mighty Chickadee Snowshoe Race

The event takes place on January 11, 2026, at Cold Creek Conservation Area, 14125 11th Concession, Nobleton, Ontario. The race distance is 6.5 km. The course uses a mix of wide and single-track trails through forest and meadows and includes a few long climbs. The event is part of the Dion Canadian Snowshoe Series and is sanctioned by Snowshoe Canada. Dogs are not permitted on the race course.

Logistics and entry

Parking is available at the race site. Race entry is capped at 60 participants. Registration tiers listed on the event page include Early Chickadee (CA$56.20 up to Dec 21), Regular (CA$61.59 from Dec 22 to Jan 8) and Race Day (CA$65 cash only, if space is available). Registrations are non-refundable; listed prices include processing fees. Limited Dion snowshoes are available for rent for a fee of $10 and are offered on a first-come, first-served basis during registration. Participants who register by December 31 are eligible for a customized race souvenir while supplies last. After the race there will be post-run food in the Education Centre and an awards presentation with draw prizes from sponsors; some prizes require presence to claim. If there is no snow but conditions are safe, the event may be held as a trail run without snowshoes; traction devices are recommended if trails are icy.
