Event overview
The Dogwood Classic 5K Run/Walk takes place on Saturday, May 2, 2026, in Knoxville, TN. The event includes a 5K, a Kids Mile, a virtual 5K, and a virtual Kid's Mile. The course is USATF certified and is a loop on Cherokee Boulevard that begins and ends at the west parking lot at 2250 Cherokee Boulevard.
Logistics and rules
Packet pickup is available early at Runner’s Market in Bearden and on race day at the event site. Registration fees vary by date: Early Bird until January 31 is $25; February 1 to April 8 is $30; April 9 to April 26 is $35; race day registration is $40. Entry for ages 17 and under is $25 until April 15, $35 for late registration, and $40 on race day. No refunds or bib transfers.
Unisex t-shirts are provided to registrants. Pre-registered runners through April 21 will receive shirts; registrations after April 21 receive shirts while supplies last. The shirt order is placed on April 22 and no re-orders will be made.
Awards are given to the top three overall, age groups, and specialty categories, with separate recognition for Masters, Grandmasters, and Senior Grandmasters by gender. The race is part of the 2026 Grand Prix team competition; Grand Prix eligibility requires KTC membership and volunteering at a minimum number of KTC races. Assorted refreshments will be provided in the event tent. Roller blades, strollers, bicycles, and dogs are not allowed on the course; the 5K course closes in 1 hour and 15 minutes.
