Doggone Dash
Doggone Dash is held at Mills River Park in Mills River, North Carolina, and benefits The Street Dog Coalition. The event offers a looped, flat course that allows participants to see fellow runners as they pass around the park. Two participation options are available:
- 5K
- One mile Woof Walk
The event is organized by the North Carolina Mountain Trail Runners (NCMTR). NCMTR members receive free entry using a provided code. Parking will be available on site and is supported by the Town of Mills River. Participants must wear their bib visibly for the entire race because timing will be manual and bibs are used for visual confirmation of finish places. Attendees are advised to arrive at least 30 minutes before the scheduled start to pick up bibs and prepare.
The Street Dog Coalition works to provide free veterinary care to pets of people experiencing or at risk of homelessness.
