Doggie Dash & Dawdle 2026
The Doggie Dash & Dawdle is a pet-focused community event held at Balloon Fiesta Park in Albuquerque, New Mexico. This event marks its 43rd year and serves as a fundraising initiative for Animal Humane New Mexico, aiming to support the care of cats and dogs. The activities are centered around the Sid Cutter Pilots' Pavilion.
Participants can choose from several event options:
- 5K Dash (without canine companion)
- 5K Dash (with canine companion)
- 1-mile Dawdle (with or without dog)
In addition to the running and walking events, the venue features a Doggie Carnival and the Barketplace, which hosts various local vendors. A specialized area called the Watering Bowl offers local brews for human attendees. The schedule also includes a pet costume contest and a best trick contest following the athletic events.
The event provides parking via the entrance off Alameda onto Balloon Museum Drive, with overflow parking available at the Golf & Event Center. Packet pickup is scheduled for the day prior to the race at the Animal Humane Main Campus, as well as on the morning of the event at the race site.
