Dog Tag Run 2.2 Mile
The Dog Tag Run 2.2 Mile is scheduled for June 6, 2026 at Gardiner County Park in Bay Shore, NY. The event features a 2.2 miles trail course and offers in-person and virtual options for running, walking, and rucking. Ruck entries include both backpack and vest divisions with official weigh-in requirements of 10 lb for participants under 150 lb and 20 lb for those over 150 lb.
A dedicated dog division allows registered dogs to finish with their human companion. Dogs receive a chip timed bib, an Operation VEST bandana, and a dog tag; proceeds from the dog division go to Paws of War. All dogs must be on a six foot leash and each dog must be accompanied by a registered participant.
Registrants receive a t-shirt and a custom dog tag finishers award. There is a water stop at approximately the one mile mark and water at the finish. Packet pickup and bib distribution occur on race day at Gardiner County Park. Awards include top overall and age group medals for run and walk divisions, ruck overall awards, and veteran awards. Additional amenities listed for the event include post event stretching, food, beverages, and photo services.
