About the race
Dog Days *5K* takes place on July 11, 2026 near Lake Bloomington with a start and finish next to Green Gables. The course covers a portion of the Inner-Loop and runs on asphalt roads; participants should use caution because the course is not closed to traffic. Two water stops are provided along the route.
Headsets and strollers are not allowed during the race. Registration opens on 2/1/2026 and closes on 4/11/2026. Two fee options are listed: $30.00 for the standard entry and $25.00 for the no-shirt option. No discounts apply beginning July 1 and there are no race day discounts. Awards are given to the overall male and female winners, and to the top three finishers, male and female, in each of the age groups: 8 & Under; 9-14; 15-19; 20-24; 25-29; 30-34; 35-39; 40-44; 45-49; 50-54; 55-59; 60-64; 65-70; 71 and Over. Packet pickup is available the Friday before the race at 305 S Linden Street in Normal from 4:30 PM to 6:00 PM, and on race day at the race site from 5:00 PM to 6:00 PM.
