Event Overview

The Docklands 5K is a non-profit running event held in the Dublin Docklands area. Organized by Crusaders Athletic Club, the event is supported by local companies and aims to promote sport, health, and wellbeing. All proceeds from the race are used to improve the facilities at Irishtown Stadium and to support the local athletic community.

Course Details

The race follows a 5 km route over a flat and fast loop. The start line is located on the South Docks near Lime Street, close to the Samuel Beckett Bridge and HubSpot House. The course heads toward the City Centre, crossing the Matt Talbot Bridge to the North Quay. Participants run toward the 3 Arena before looping back along the North Quay to the Matt Talbot Bridge. After crossing back to the South Quay, runners pass the original start line and continue to the finish at Capital Dock on Sir John Rogerson's Quay.

Participation and Awards

Entry is open to individual participants and teams of three. Team categories include All-Male, All-Female, and Mixed groups. The event features chip timing with the sensor built into the race bib. Pacing groups are available for target times of 20, 25, and 30 minutes.

Cash prizes are awarded to the top six male and female finishers, with an additional bonus for breaking course records. Age category prizes are also available, alongside trophies for Athletics Ireland affiliated club teams. Participants receive a technical running t-shirt as part of their entry.

Facilities

A baggage drop-off area is located on Benson Street at Capital Dock. Drinking water is provided at the finish line. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
