Doc Ford's National Yucatan Shrimp Day 7K
This event takes place on May 23, 2026 at Doc Ford's Rum Bar & Grille, 2500 Island Inn Road, Sanibel, FL 33957. The event offers an in-person 7K Run & Walk and a Virtual 7K Run/Walk. Registration opens April 15, 2026 and closes May 23, 2026. The registration fee is $45.00 for both options.
The 7K distance reflects the seven key ingredients used in Doc Ford's Yucatan Shrimp recipe: shrimp, butter, lime juice, garlic, cilantro, sambal, and salt and pepper. The race is described as the second annual 7K held in celebration of National Yucatan Shrimp Day.
On race day the venue will provide food and drink related activities and amenities. Planned on-site features include a photo booth, live chef cooking of the Yucatan Shrimp, free drink stations sponsored by RNDC featuring Captains for Clean Water cocktails and the Ghost Orchid, and a free mojito card included with each race packet. Every runner is entered to win a YETI cooler filled with Doc Ford's merchandise, and local community sponsors will have booths on site for visitors of all ages.
