Doc Ford's National Yucatan Shrimp 7K Group Run
Doc Ford's National Yucatan Shrimp 7K Group Run is a free group event held on May 24, 2026 at Doc Ford's Rum Bar and Grille St Pete Pier in St. Petersburg, Florida. The run marks the first annual celebration of National Yucatan Shrimp Day and is led by St Pete Running Company. The distance is 7K, inspired by the seven key ingredients that define Doc Ford's Yucatan Shrimp: shrimp, butter, lime juice, garlic, cilantro, sambal, and salt and pepper.
The event includes a post-run celebration at Doc Ford's with early venue access for refueling and socializing. On-site offerings listed for the event include cold brew and coffee provided by St Pete Running Company and samples of Yucatan Bloody Marys. Participants who bring a pair of used running shoes may earn a raffle ticket; donations of shoes support Sneaker Impact, a recycling and repurposing organization. Each participant receives a vintage St Pete Run Fest t-shirt, a medal, and a Recycle Run sticker. Additional items mentioned include gift cards and giveaways, prizes for best dressed, and mini bottles of Gloria's Yucatan Sauce.
Doc Ford's will direct a portion of proceeds from a special drink menu to Tampa Bay Watch as part of the event's fundraising efforts. Event sponsors include Doc Ford's Rum Bar and Grill, St Pete Running Company, Tampa Bay Watch, Orlando Health St Pete Pier Run, and St Pete Run Fest.
