Do Better 4 Steve Fearless 5K and 1 Mile Kids Fun Run
This is the fifth annual event held at Wissahickon High School in Ambler, PA. It features a 5K road race and a 1 mile kids fun run for ages 12 and under. The course begins at the high school track, continues through the surrounding neighborhood, follows the Lower Gwynedd Trail where surfaces are mostly crushed limestone with some pavement, then uses a sidewalk to Dager Road before returning to the track for the finish.
Amenities include a T shirt for all pre registrants of the 5K, goodie bags for fun run participants, refreshments, indoor restrooms, pre and post DJ entertainment, and free photos. The event is professionally timed by Pretzel City Sports. Awards for the 5K include first overall male and female and top three male and female in the following age groups: 13 and under, 14 to 19, 20 to 29, 30 to 39, 40 to 49, 50 to 59, 60 to 69, and 70 plus. The event proceeds rain or shine with no refunds or mailed awards.
Entry fees vary by postmark date. Online registration is available with a nominal processing fee and closes the Wednesday of race week. Participants are required to acknowledge a race waiver accepting the risks of road running. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
