DNF x FCF West Midlands Backyard Ultra
The West Midlands Backyard Ultra is a last-runner-standing event on 4th June 2027 at Far Coley Farm in Staffordshire. Participants run a repeated loop of 4.167 miles (6.7 km) each hour until only one runner remains. The route is mixed trail and single track and the course is fully marked.
The event is held on a private farm estate and includes a festival-style race village in a tipi with daytime DJ sets, food stalls, hot drinks, and seating. Athlete HQ is the Atcost Shed called The View. Facilities on site include toilets, lighting, water points, an organised holding pen, hot showers, a hot tub, indoor areas, unlimited parking, and professional photography and videography.
On-site accommodation is limited with ten bedrooms available and space for camping or car bases. Entry benefits listed include a participant medal, event village access, snacks and microwaves, and a winner's trophy and medal. The winner receives a free night in a farm room and access to recovery facilities.
Race rules require runners to start each loop on the hour, be in the start pen before the whistle, and complete the loop within the hour. No pacers or support are allowed on the loop, and littering or land abuse results in disqualification. Decisions rest with the Head Judge. Each athlete may bring unlimited crew; crew have access to the central barn, race village, parking and viewing areas but not the loop.
This is a self-sufficient event. Mandatory kit includes a head torch (mandatory 8pm–4am), spare batteries or power bank, trail footwear, weather-ready layers, a refillable water bottle or hydration pack, sufficient nutrition, a charged mobile phone, hat and gloves, and any other items needed for extended racing.
