Ditmars Wine Run 5k
The event is a chip-timed 5k held at Ditmars Orchard & Vineyard, 19475 225th Street, Council Bluffs, IA. It is scheduled for Saturday, July 3, 2027. The course starts and finishes at the winery, follows a two-lap layout and is cross-country style with some areas of uneven footing, suitable for both walkers and runners.
Registration includes a super soft ring spun cotton T-shirt, a shatterproof collapsible wine glass, a finisher medal, and a race bib. Results are posted online. A pour of wine is provided at the finish for participants who are eligible.
The event partners with The American Cancer Society Relay For Life Division. Age group awards are offered for the top three finishers in each 10-year category: 19 & Under; 20-29; 30-39; 40-49; 50-59; 60-69; 70-79; 80 & Over. Competitive runners must start with the first group to be eligible for age group awards; winners must start with the first wave if wave starts are used. There is no award ceremony; results can be checked at J3Timing.com and age group awards are available for pickup on race day one hour after the first wave start and will not be shipped.
Minors may participate with a discounted registration that includes shirt, medal and bib but not the wine glass or pour. Strollers are permitted though not recommended due to uneven ground. Dogs are not allowed on site. Packet pick-up is on race day morning only, beginning one hour before the race. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
