Dirty Sock 10K Run/Walk 2027
The Dirty Sock Run is a 10K run and walk held in Babylon Village, New York. It is part of the USATF Long Island Track and Field Cross Country Series and is one of the few 10K races on Long Island. Proceeds support the Babylon Rotary Foundation to help local food pantries and soup kitchens.
The course follows village trails from Park Avenue past Southard’s Pond, toward Belmont State Park, around Belmont Lake, and back through wooded trails to the finish. The route is USATF certified, mostly flat with water stops, mostly wooded trail surfaces, and roughly 0.2 mile on pavement. The description notes uneven terrain and occasional road apples; splits and water stops are provided.
Amenities for participants with a racing bib include complimentary beer and snacks, post race refreshments, and guaranteed socks for the first 500 finishers. Race results are available live online, by email or text, and same day finish line photos and video are provided.
Awards include cash gift cards for the top three men and women overall, a Joe Farina award for the first Babylon Village resident finisher, and top three awards in multiple age groups from 10 and under through 70 plus. Age group winners receive a free class at two local studios valued at about $55.
Registration is not yet open and is scheduled to open ahead of the listed event date. Pre race bib pickup and day of pickup procedures are provided for registered participants. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
