Dirty Day

Dirty Day is a special edition running and obstacle event produced by Rat Race in partnership with Forest Facility. It takes place in the woods of the Burghley Estate on 15th August 2026 and is a one day event. Proceeds raised go to Project Jungle, a rainforest conservation initiative in Panama.

The main route is a special edition 4 mile loop that features over 60 obstacles. Adult entrants can choose to complete one or two laps, and there is a separate family wave on a shortened 1.5 mile lap suitable for children aged 6 and up. Teens aged 13 to 17 are offered the 4 mile course. Some classic obstacles being reinstated for the day include the big water jump, a lake swim with safety support, underground tunnels and structures such as the Ewok village.

Facilities and practical details stated for the event include on-site parking priced at 5 GBP per car, a local food truck and hot drinks, composting and extra portable toilets, a valuables drop for keys and phones, and some small changing rooms. A professional medical team with paramedics, doctors and an ambulance will be present. Recommended clothing is simple outdoor kit such as shorts or long sleeves, off-road trainers if available, gloves as optional, and a towel or change of clothes for after the course.
