DINO Gravel Triathlon
The DINO Gravel Triathlon takes place at Griffin Bike Park in Terre Haute, Indiana. This multi-sport event combines elements of a sprint triathlon, gravel cycling, and trail running. The course is designed with manageable terrain, featuring a relatively flat gravel ride with gentle hills and a moderate trail run on a mostly stable surface with some short ascents and descents. The routes are generally wide enough to allow for easy passing.
Participants can choose from several different formats:
- Triathlon
- Duathlon
- Kayak Triathlon
- 10k Trail Run
The event is open to solo participants as well as relay teams for the multi-sport categories. For those participating in the kayak triathlon, rentals are available through the event organizers. USATF members may use their membership at registration, while non-members are required to obtain a one-day permit.
The cycling portion allows for various bicycle types, including mountain bikes and cyclo-cross bikes, provided they have no motorized assistance and have two working hand-operated brakes. Safety requirements include the mandatory use of a certified helmet and closed-toe shoes. For lodging, camping is available at Fowler Park, located across the road from the event site.
