Dino Days Jamboree 5K - Glen Rose, TX
The Dino Days Jamboree 5K is a scenic point to point race that begins at the corner of Walnut and Vernon at Glen Rose Square and follows neighborhood streets along the Paluxy River before returning to the Square. The course passes riverfront sections and local streets, and includes a short incline near College Street.
The published route follows Vernon to Mustang Street, then Mustang toward the river crossing Barnard Street with a left onto Grace Street. Runners continue along the river until it crosses back over Barnard just before Shepard Street, proceed up a 1% incline to Holden/College Street, turn right, cross State Highway 144 to Old Highway 67/Van Zandt Street, and follow Van Zandt to the Sonic Drive-In area where a rest break with water and bathrooms is planned before the return to the Square.
Event logistics note a registration table at the Old City Hall at 201 NE Vernon Street and parking available in outer parking lots near the Square. Participants receive a race t-shirt on the day of the event. The race is part of the Dino Days Jamboree weekend, which includes live music, food and retail vendors, a dinosaur themed stampede around the Square, and a river duck derby on Sunday. Additional event funds are directed to a planned City of Glen Rose pedestrian bridge across the Paluxy River linking Stephen Gibbs/Heritage Park with the Downtown Square.
