Dino Days Jamboree 5K - Glen Rose, TX
The Dino Days Jamboree 5K is a road race held on October 10, 2026, in Glen Rose Square at Walnut and Vernon in Glen Rose, Texas. The course is described as a point-to-point route that runs through neighborhoods along the Paluxy River and returns to the downtown square.
The route begins at the corner of Walnut and Vernon, follows Vernon to Mustang Street, turns right onto Mustang toward the river, crosses Barnard Street, and turns left onto Grace Street. Runners follow the river until it crosses Barnard Street near Shepard Street, encounter a short incline toward Holden/College Street, then turn right. Where College ends at State Highway 144, the course crosses 144 to Old Highway 67/Van Zandt Street and proceeds to the Sonic Drive-In area, which serves as a rest break with water and bathroom access, before returning to the square.
The entry fee is listed as $15. Participants receive a race t-shirt on race day. After the race there is a DINO STAMPEDE around the square for those in dinosaur attire or wearing the 5K shirt. The larger Dino Days Jamboree includes live music, food and retail vendors, and on Sunday a Dino Duck Derby in the river. Event funds are directed to the City of Glen Rose pedestrian bridge project linking Stephen Gibbs/Heritage Park with the downtown square.
Parking is available in outer lots near the square and the registration table is at Old City Hall, 201 NE Vernon Street. Participants without a waiver on file must sign at registration and show ID. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
