Dino Days Jamboree 5K
The event is a point-to-point 5K held in Glen Rose, Texas, beginning at the corner of Walnut & Vernon and finishing at the Glen Rose Square. The course winds through neighborhoods along the Paluxy River, follows Vernon to Mustang Street, crosses Barnard Street, turns onto Grace Street and runs alongside the river before continuing to Holden/College Street and across State Highway 144 to Old Highway 67/Van Zandt Street. The route reaches Sonic Park/Sonic Drive-In for a rest break with water and restroom access, then returns to the Square.
Registration is managed at a table located at the Old City Hall at 201 NE Vernon Street. Parking is available around the outer parking lots near the square. Entry is listed at $20 and the event includes a race t-shirt delivered on race day.
The 5K is part of the larger Dino Days Jamboree program. After the race there is a DINO STAMPEDE, described as a run around the square in dinosaur attire or using the provided 5K shirt. The jamboree also features live music, food and retail vendors, and a Dino Duck Derby in the river on Sunday. Extra funds raised are directed to the City of Glen Rose Pedestrian Bridge project to connect Stephen Gibbs/Heritage Park with the downtown square.
