Diamondhead 5k
The event takes place on August 22, 2026 at East Recreation Pool & Playground in Diamondhead, Mississippi. It includes a USATF certified road course laid out as a hilly out and back and offers separate race categories and awards for the 5k.

Event types include a 5k run, a 5k racewalker division and a kids' 1 mile that is included with 5k registration. Race walkers must follow USATF race walking guidelines. Race walking requires the competitor to maintain contact with the ground at all times and requires the leading leg to be straightened as the foot makes contact with the ground. It must remain straightened until the leg passes under the body.
Registration opens June 17, 2026 and closes August 21, 2026. Published fees include $20 for Gulf Coast Running Club members and $22 for non-members for the 5k, with a higher fee for same-day registration. Children 12 and under have a published fee that covers both distances. T shirts are guaranteed only to pre-registered participants.
Post-race provisions include drinks, food, fruit and snacks. Participants in the run receive free access to the pool after the event. Awards are given for the standard divisions in the 5k. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
