The Diamond Hill race will take place on Saturday, 5 September 2026, in County Galway.

Course Details

The main route is 7.10 km long and involves a total climb of 440 m. A shorter course is also available, with a distance of 2.90 km. The terrain is described as easy. The route is fully marked, and the use of GPS devices is not permitted.

Mandatory Kit

Runners must bring Level B mandatory kit to the event. This includes:

  • A waterproof jacket
  • A hat or buff
  • Gloves
  • A whistle
  • A charged mobile phone with an emergency number stored
  • A foil blanket, bivvy bag, or equivalent

All runners must have the means to carry this kit. The final decision on which items must be carried during the race will be made on the day, based on conditions, and announced at registration. Random kit checks may be conducted, and failure to present required items may lead to denied entry or disqualification.

Logistics

Parking is at the Connemara National Park car park. Carpooling is encouraged. The event has an entry limit of 250 participants. Entry costs €7 for seniors and €5 for over 65s and under 18s.
