Día de los Muertos 5K Walk & Run, Highland, IN
Adelante, Inc. presents the 3rd annual Día de los Muertos 5K Walk & Run on November 1, 2026, at Wicker Memorial Park in Highland, Indiana. The event centers on a professionally timed 5K run and includes a community walk and a youth dash. Pets on leash are allowed.
The event program includes a Zumba warm-up, a live DJ, and Aztec ceremonial dancers. A Día de los Muertos costume contest will award prizes to the top three costumes or makeup entries. Awards are given for overall top male and female, overall masters male and female, and 1st through 3rd in each age division. Age divisions include 0–10, 11–14, 15–19, 20–29, 30–39, 40–49, 50–59, 60–69, and 70 plus.
T-shirts are guaranteed for timed 5K participants registered by October 12 and for walkers and children registered by October 2. Proceeds from the event support scholarships for local Northwest Indiana college students. The organizer is a nonprofit focused on serving the Latino community in Northwest Indiana.
