2026 DFW HBCU Alumni 5K : Rooted in Legacy, Running Toward Tomorrow
The DFW HBCU Alumni 5K is a community running event held on September 12, 2026 at The Epic, Epic Place in Grand Prairie, TX 75052. The event supports the DFW HBCU Alumni Heritage Scholarship, which has awarded $50,000 to 100 students since 2019. It is presented by The Robinson House Foundation in partnership with The HBCU Project and the Dallas Metroplex Council of Black Alumni Associations.
Participants encounter two main route options and a virtual entry. Course features include a loop around two man-made lakes, a section that passes the Hilton Garden Inn and the Grand Prairie Police Department, three gradual uphill segments on the 5K route, and a marked halfway turnaround with a water station. The start and finish share the same location.
Event elements reflect HBCU culture and community engagement. The schedule lists a DJ, spirited competition, a vendor marketplace with health and wellness and fitness resources, and merchandise from HBCU and Divine Nine organizations. An Alumni Connection Zone provides space for local alumni associations to set up tents and fellowship.
Registration categories include in-person adult and child entries and a virtual option. Registrations are non-refundable and non-transferable.
