2026 DFW HBCU Alumni 5K
The 2026 DFW HBCU Alumni 5K takes place on September 12, 2026 at The Epic in Grand Prairie, Texas. The event is the eighth annual run and carries the theme Rooted in Legacy, Running Toward Tomorrow. It is hosted by The Robinson House Foundation in partnership with The HBCU Project and the Dallas Metroplex Council of Black Alumni Associations. Proceeds support the DFW HBCU Alumni Heritage Scholarship, which has awarded fifty thousand dollars to one hundred students since 2019.
Event features include a race atmosphere with a DJ, spirited competition, a vendor marketplace offering health and wellness products, fitness resources, and HBCU and Divine Nine merchandise, plus an Alumni Connection Zone where local alumni associations set up tents for fellowship.

- 1K fun run or walk around two man made lakes
- 5K run or walk using the 1K loop plus an additional section that includes three gradually ascending hills
Route details note that both the 1K and 5K start and finish at the same location, the courses are clearly marked, and the 5K includes a halfway water station. Vendor information specifies the Grand Lawn location and asks vendors to bring their own 10 foot by 10 foot tent or smaller, tables and chairs, and a personal power source because the lawn does not offer power outlets. Participants register in person for adult and child divisions or as virtual participants, and registrations are nonrefundable and nontransferable.
