2026 DFW HBCU Alumni 5K
The DFW HBCU Alumni 5K takes place in Grand Prairie at The Epic, Epic Place, TX on September 12, 2026. The event is presented by The Robinson House Foundation in partnership with the HBCU Project and the Dallas Metroplex Council of Black Alumni Associations. Its stated purpose is to fund the DFW HBCU Alumni Heritage Scholarship; since 2019 the scholarship program has awarded $50,000 to 100 students.
Event features include a DJ, a vendor marketplace on the Grand Lawn, and an Alumni Connection Zone where local alumni associations set up tents for fellowship. The vendor area requires vendors to provide their own 10' x 10' tent or smaller, tables, chairs, and any needed power source because the Grand Lawn does not offer electrical outlets. Vendors are advised to plan for a short walk from parking to the event space and to bring hand carts or similar equipment for load in and load out.
Course details include a 1K loop around two man-made lakes and a 5K route that incorporates the lake loop plus an additional section with three gradual hills. The 5K has a marked halfway turnaround with a water station and the route starts and finishes at the same location.
