DFW HBCU Alumni 5K, Rooted in Legacy, Running Toward Tomorrow
The DFW HBCU Alumni 5K is the eighth annual community race held at The Epic, Epic Place in Grand Prairie, Texas on September 12, 2026. The event is hosted by The Robinson House Foundation in partnership with The HBCU Project and the Dallas Metroplex Council of Black Alumni Associations. Proceeds support the DFW HBCU Alumni Heritage Scholarship, which has awarded $50,000 to 100 students since 2019.
Event features include a vendor marketplace on the Grand Lawn with health and wellness products, fitness resources, and HBCU and Divine Nine merchandise, a DJ, spirited competition, and an Alumni Connection Zone where local alumni associations set up tents for fellowship. Vendor participants must provide their own 10 by 10 foot tent or smaller, tables, chairs, and any required power source, and should be prepared for a short walk from parking to the Grand Lawn.
Course options:
- 5K Run/Walk, a varied loop that includes two lake loops and three gradual inclines
- 1K Fun Run/Walk, a loop around two man-made lakes
- Virtual participation, available for all ages
Registration categories include adult in-person (ages 16 and up), child in-person (ages 6 to 15), and virtual. Registrations are non-refundable and non-transferable. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
