2026 DFW HBCU Alumni 5K
The 2026 DFW HBCU Alumni 5K is the eighth annual community run at The Epic in Grand Prairie, Texas, presented under the theme "Rooted in Legacy, Running Toward Tomorrow." The event is hosted by The Robinson House Foundation in partnership with The HBCU Project and the Dallas Metroplex Council of Black Alumni Associations. Proceeds support the DFW HBCU Alumni Heritage Scholarship, which has awarded $50,000 to 100 students since 2019.
Participants can join in-person or virtually. Registration categories include adult, child, and virtual entries; registrations are non-refundable and non-transferable. The event lists 182 participants.
Race-day activities include a DJ, spirited competition, a vendor marketplace with health and wellness products, fitness resources, and HBCU and Divine Nine merchandise. An Alumni Connection Zone provides space for local alumni associations to set up tents and fellowship.
Course details are provided for two distances:
- 5K - loop with lakes, mild inclines, and a halfway water station.
- 1K Fun Run/Walk - scenic loop around two man-made lakes and nearby landmarks.
Vendor information notes the Grand Lawn vendor area does not offer power outlets; vendors must supply a tent up to 10' x 10', tables, chairs, and any required power source, and should plan for transporting items from parking to the event space.
