DeWitt Crossroads Triathlon : July 18, 2026, DeWitt, Iowa
The DeWitt Crossroads Triathlon is scheduled for Saturday, July 18, 2026, with swim activities at Killdeer Recreation Area and a finish at Central DeWitt High School. The event offers individual adult and three person relay formats, and is limited to 200 athletes for 2026.
Distances:
- 500 yard swim
- 15 mile bike
- 3.1 mile run (5k)
The swim is an out-and-back triangular course in Lake Killdeer with a time trial start; athletes enter the water single file with roughly five seconds between entries. Boats and safety personnel will be on and around the lake during the swim. The bike course covers roughly 15 miles, traveling west on Old Highway 30, north on Humeston Road/290th Avenue for about 4 miles before returning to Central DeWitt High School. Participants must walk bikes in the transition area. The run is a hilly 5k leaving and returning to Central DeWitt High School; bibs must be worn on the front. Water stations are located at mile 1, mile 2, the finish line, and at the post-race area.
Open and age group divisions are offered, including Clydesdale and Athena categories. Overall cash prizes are awarded to the top three male and female finishers. Team awards are presented to first place teams in All Male, All Female, and Co-ed categories.
Registration fees differ for early and late entry periods. Organizers follow a no refund policy but may permit transfers. Packet pick up occurs July 15 and July 16 in local locations with specified times. The event will use professional timing and scoring. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
