DeWitt Crossroads Triathlon - DeWitt, Iowa
The DeWitt Crossroads Triathlon is scheduled for Saturday, July 18, 2026, with base facilities at Killdeer Recreation Area and a finish at Central DeWitt High School. The event offers an individual adult triathlon and a three-person relay division. Entry fees differ by registration period: early registration offers reduced rates for individuals and teams, with higher late registration fees. The field is limited to a maximum of 200 athletes for 2026.
The course distances are:
- 500 yard swim in Lake Killdeer
- 15 mile bike course
- 3.1 mile run (5K)
The swim is an out-and-back triangular course in Lake Killdeer using a time-trial, single-file start with short separations between athletes. Boats and safety personnel will be on or around the lake. The bike route travels west on Old Highway 30, north on Humeston Road/290th Avenue for a turnaround, then returns to the second transition; athletes must walk their bikes in transition areas. The run is a hilly 5K leaving the high school, heading east on Old Highway 30 (245th Street) for about 1.5 miles, then returning to finish in the school parking lot. Run bibs must be worn on the front. Water stations are located at Mile 1, Mile 2, the finish, and at the post-race area.
Awards include overall cash prizes for the top three male and female finishers, age-group awards, Clydesdale and Athena division awards, and team awards for first-place relay teams. Event shirts use unisex sizing and size availability is linked to registration timing. Packet pick-up occurs in the days before the race at local locations to be announced.
