Event Details

The Devil's Den 10 Miler takes place on Sunday, August 16, 2026, in Culpeper, Virginia. It is the eighth race in the 2026 Coldwell Banker Elite Grand Prix Race Series managed by the Fredericksburg Area Running Club.

Location & Course

The race starts and finishes in front of the Culpeper Sports Complex at 16358 Competition Drive. The course is a USATF-certified loop described as mostly flat with some rolling hills, offering views of the Culpeper countryside. The event benefits the Alzheimer's Association.

What's Included

Finishers receive a commemorative award. Runners who register before July 22, 2026, are guaranteed a custom men's or women's cut performance tee shirt. Parking is described as plentiful and close to the venue. Restrooms are available, and cold watermelon and snacks are provided at the finish.

On-Course Support

Four aid stations are located at miles 2, 4, 6, and 8. Water is provided at each, and Monolith Endurance Fuel is offered at the mile 6 station.

Events & Eligibility

The event offers two options:

  • A 10-mile in-person race.
  • A virtual 10-mile race that can be run anywhere from August 14-16. Both events are open to participants aged 12 and over.

Awards

Cash awards are given for the in-person race. The top three overall male and female finishers receive $100, $75, and $50. An additional $100 bonus is offered for breaking the current course records. Top male and female masters runners (age 40+) receive $50. Awards are also given to the top Athena (160+ lbs) and Clydesdale (200+ lbs) finishers. Age group awards are presented to the top three in each division.

Packet Pickup

Packet pickup is available on Saturday, August 15, in Fredericksburg and on race day at the Culpeper County Sports Complex starting at 5:45 AM. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
