Devil on the Divide - Empire, Colorado
Devil on the Divide is a trail running event on Saturday, September 12, 2026, in Empire, Colorado. It offers two point-to-point distances and uses dirt trails, with most sections on single track.
- 50K: point to point, 6,500 ft climb, summit above 13,000 ft
- 22K: point to point, 3,400 ft climb, high altitude trail
Courses run through Clear Creek County with views of the Continental Divide. The 50K reaches a top altitude above 13,000 feet. Both courses are entirely on dirt surfaces and include long single track sections.
Due to remoteness and terrain, prior ultra running experience is required for the 50K. Trail running experience at high altitude is highly recommended for the 22K. For 50K entrants, previous race results will be checked and exceptions may be granted by the organizer.
Cut off times are enforced for both distances. Race entries are non refundable and non transferable, with stated exceptions for active duty military deployments, pregnancies that occur after registration, and new child additions with appropriate notice. The race director reserves the right to postpone, delay, shorten, or cancel the event for circumstances that put participants or volunteers at risk, such as severe weather or forest fires.
