Devil on the Divide
Devil on the Divide is a trail ultramarathon in Empire, Colorado held on September 12, 2026. The races run near Clear Creek County and the Continental Divide on point to point courses that are 100% dirt with the majority on single track trail.
The organizer lists a top altitude above 13,000 feet for the longer course. Elevation gain is given as 6,500 feet for the 50K course and 3,400 feet for the 22K course. Cut off times are enforced for both distances.
Prior ultra running experience is required for 50K participants. Trail running experience at high altitude is highly recommended for 22K participants. Previous race results will be checked for 50K entries and participants may be asked to show racing history.
Race entries are non refundable and non transferable with exceptions for active duty military deployments, pregnancy after registration, and new child additions by birth or adoption with appropriate notice. The race director reserves the right to postpone, delay, shorten, or cancel the event for severe weather, forest fires, or other risks. No refunds will be issued if the event is modified or cancelled.
If a participant registers for the 50K but drops at Herman Gulch, finish times will not be given. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
