Devil on the Divide - Empire, Colorado
Devil on the Divide is a mountain trail event in Empire, Colorado offering two point to point distances. The courses run through Clear Creek County with views of the Continental Divide and reach high alpine terrain.
- 50K: top altitude over 13,000 feet, over 6,500 feet climbing.
- 22K: 3,400 feet elevation gain, point to point dirt course.
Both courses are 100 percent dirt and the majority of each route is single track trail. The 50K reaches a peak altitude above 13,000 feet. Cut off times are enforced for both distances. Participants who register for the 50K but drop at Herman Gulch, the 22K finish, will not receive 50K finish times.
Because of remoteness and elevation, prior ultra running experience is required for 50K entrants. Trail running experience at high altitude is highly recommended for 22K entrants. Previous race results for 50K applicants may be checked and participants may be asked to document relevant racing history; exceptions can be made with prior approval.
Race entries are non refundable and non transferable except for specified circumstances such as active duty military deployments and certain family changes after registration. The race director may postpone, delay, shorten or cancel the event for safety reasons with no refunds in the event of modification. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
