Devil on the Divide - September 12, 2026, Empire, Colorado
Devil on the Divide is a trail race in Empire, Colorado, held on September 12, 2026. The event offers two point-to-point distances:
- 50K - point-to-point; ~6,500 ft climb; top altitude over 13,000 ft
- 22K - point-to-point; ~3,400 ft elevation gain; high-altitude trail
The courses are 100% dirt, with the majority on single-track trail. The route provides views of Clear Creek County and the Continental Divide. Cut-off times are enforced. Finish times will not be provided to participants who register for the 50K and drop at Herman Gulch, which is the 22K finish.
Requirements and policies
Prior ultra running experience is required for 50K entrants. Trail running experience at high altitude is highly recommended for 22K entrants. For 50K registrants, previous race results may be checked and participants may be asked to provide racing history.
Race entries are non-refundable and non-transferable, with exceptions for active duty military deployments, pregnancy after registration, and new child additions with appropriate notice. The race director may postpone, delay, shorten, or cancel the event for safety reasons such as severe weather or forest fires; there are no refunds for race modification or cancellation.
