Desert Island Trail Runs
Desert Island Trail Runs takes place at the Prison Hill Recreation Area OHV staging area south of the Snyder Road trail head near Carson City, NV. The course uses single track and two track trails within the Prison Hill area, with start and finish at the motorized vehicle staging area. Parking is available in a large open area reached via a short dirt road; organizers ask that vehicles be parked parallel and orderly to maximize space.

- 21K course on single track and two track
- 10K course on single track and two track
- 5K course on single track and two track
Registration fees vary by date: early registration through 10/09/2026, a higher fee after that date, and a race day fee that matches the after-date rate. Race day registration accepts cash, check, or Zelle. Bib numbers are distributed on race morning at check-in. Aid stations will provide water only; the 21K course has one aid station at about mile 7, while the 5K and 10K courses have no aid stations. There are no finisher or division place awards; this is intended to keep registration rates affordable.
This event is the third and final race in the organizer's Fall Series, a merger of previous local trail events aimed at offering more distance options in milder fall temperatures. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
