The reservoir sits on the border of County Durham and Northumberland. Registration opens 25 February 2025 and closes 18 February 2026. From 2026, there will be a parking or bus transfer charge; full details will be sent to entrants before the event.

Routes and race details

  • 5 mile - Price: £25 + fee; 493 places remaining
  • 10 mile - Price: £27 + fee; 373 places remaining

The courses include firm trails, woodland paths, grassy sections, and a small amount of road running. The 5 mile route is canicross friendly (one controlled dog per runner). The 10 mile route is not suitable for canicross because of extended road sections. There is a 2.5-hour cut off for the 10 mile event due to road closures. Live chip-timing will be provided by Timing Up North. All finishers receive an event medal, Wild Deer merchandise, and a snack and drink. An event T-shirt is available for purchase for £12 when signing up. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
