Event

Derwent Reservoir 5 & 10 Milers take place on 22 February 2026 at Derwent Reservoir, Edmundbyers, Consett, DH8 9TT. This is the seventh year the winter trail runs are held at this location on the border of County Durham and Northumberland. Live chip-timing will be provided by Timing Up North.

Routes

  • 5 mile - all on firm trails; canicross friendly (one controlled dog per runner).
  • 10 mile - full lap of the reservoir on closed roads and firm trails; not suitable for canicross.

The courses include firm trails, woodland paths, grassy sections, and a small amount of road running.

Practical information

There is a 2.5-hour cut off for the 10 mile event due to road closures. All finishers will receive an event medal, Wild Deer merchandise, and a snack and drink. An event T-shirt can be purchased for £12 when signing up. From 2026, a parking or bus transfer charge will apply; full details will be sent to entrants.
