Derwent Reservoir 10 & 5 Miler
The event returns for its eighth year at Derwent Reservoir, Edmundbyers, Consett, DH8 9TT. It offers two measured trail distances around the reservoir on mixed terrain that includes firm trails and sections on closed roads.
Distances
- 5 mile: all on firm trails.
- 10 mile: full lap of the reservoir on closed roads and firm trails.
The 5 mile route is canicross friendly with one controlled dog per runner. The 10 mile route is not suitable for canicross because it includes extended road sections. There is a 2.5 hour cut off for the 10 mile due to road closures.
Live chip timing is provided by Timing Up North. All finishers receive an event medal, Wild Deer merchandise, and a snack and drink. An event T-shirt is available to purchase for £12 at entry.
There is an on-site parking charge and all vehicles must purchase a parking pass for £3. The mixed terrain routes make use of the reservoir area, which lies on the border of County Durham and Northumberland. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
