Event Overview

The Derby Dash 5K Run/Walk is the 21st annual edition of the event, taking place in Williamstown, Kentucky. The event is organized to support FFLAG (Fitness For Life Around Grant County) initiatives aimed at promoting community health.

Distances and Categories

The main event is a 5K distance. Participants can register as either runners or walkers, with separate categories for each.

  • Run Divisions: Male and Female: 14 & under, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70+
  • Walk Divisions: Male and Female: 14 & under, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70+

Walkers must walk the entire distance; anyone planning to run any part must register as a runner.

Awards and Post-Race

The event features an after-party with refreshments, door prizes, and race awards. Door prizes require the winner to be present. Awards are given to the top two overall males and females in both running and walking, as well as to the top male and female in each age category. The largest registered group also receives an award.

A free kids' fun run for children 10 and under is held after the main event at the Williamstown City Building.

Registration and Details

Registration includes chip timing, race awards, and refreshments. The race is professionally chip-timed, and results are posted online. T-shirts are available for purchase separately. Pets are not allowed on the course. Race day packet pickup is available at the Williamstown City Building.
