Big Rex's Bottle Rocket 5K (Dry Ridge, KY)
Big Rex's Bottle Rocket 5K is the second annual 3.1-mile road race held on July 3, 2027 in Dry Ridge, Kentucky. The event is organized by Ridge Runners Racing in partnership with Big Rex Fireworks and conducted in cooperation with the city of Dry Ridge.
The course begins at the intersection of Taft Highway and Race Street adjacent to the Dry Ridge City Building and finishes on the outfield of Piddle Park. Runners follow Taft Highway, turn right to head south on Dixie Highway (US 25) to a turnaround point at Grant County Middle School, return north on Dixie Highway, circle through School Street and Walnut Street, then turn left down the alley just past Grant County Drugs and proceed down the ramp to the finish on the outfield of Piddle Park.
Registration opens on July 5, 2026 and closes on June 30, 2027; the registration fee is $35.00. A post-race celebration and awards presentation take place inside Piddle Park, with live music at the stage adjacent to the basketball courts as part of the day’s community activities marking the nation’s 250th anniversary.
