Big Rex's Bottle Rocket 5K
Big Rex’s Bottle Rocket 5K is an in-person road race held in Dry Ridge, Kentucky, with the event location listed as 31 Broadway St. The course begins at the intersection of Taft Highway and Race Street adjacent to the Dry Ridge City Building. Runners follow Taft Highway, turn right to head south on Dixie Highway US 25 to a turnaround at Grant County Middle School, then return north on Dixie Highway. The route continues through School Street and Walnut Street, then turns left down the alley just past Grant County Drugs and descends a ramp to the finish on the outfield of Piddle Park.
A post-race celebration will take place inside Piddle Park after the race. A virtual Big Rex’s 5K option is also offered. Registration for the in-person Big Rex’s Bottle Rocket 5K opens on July 5, 2026 and closes on May 31, 2027; the listed registration fee for the main in-person entry is $35.00. The event is organized by Ridge Runners Racing in partnership with Big Rex Fireworks and takes place in cooperation with the city of Dry Ridge.
