Dennis Hockenberry Memorial 5K Run/Walk : August 15, 2026
The Dennis Hockenberry Memorial 5K Run/Walk is the second annual running event held in Palo, Michigan. The event features a self timed 5K route that follows nearby country roads historically used by the honoree. The course starts and finishes adjacent to Joe's Market, where packet pickup will also be available on the day of the event.
Registrations open May 31, 2026 and close August 14, 2026. The registration fee is $38.00 and includes an annual memorial 5K T shirt. The event offers post race awards, refreshments, snacks, and live music at the finish area.
The inaugural race in August 2025 raised nearly $2,000 for area cross country teams and brought together family and friends for an afternoon of fellowship. All proceeds from the 2026 event will be donated to the Ronald Township Fire Department.
