Delco Run for Heroes 5K
The Delco Run for Heroes is an annual 5K run/walk held at the Springfield Township Municipal Complex, 50 Powell Road, Springfield, Pennsylvania. The event in 2026 marks its 25th anniversary and takes place rain or shine. It benefits the Delaware County Hero Scholarship Fund and is organized as a family friendly community event.
The race is electronically timed by Run The Day. Awards include cash prizes for the top three men and women overall and for top finishers over 40, age group awards for the top male and female in standard age brackets, and gift card prizes for top walkers. A plaque is presented to the fastest Police Department, Fire Company, or EMS team based on the fastest four members (up to five on a team). One prize is awarded per participant. Refreshments such as bagels, coffee, and water are provided.
Since its start in 2001, the Run for Heroes has raised over $870,000. Registration is available online through Run The Day. The event is supported by multiple sponsor levels and local community partners. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
