21st Annual Delaware County Suicide Prevention 5K
The Delaware County Suicide Prevention and Awareness 2026 event is a community gathering held at Ridley Creek State Park. This annual event, now in its 21st year, aims to increase understanding of suicide as a preventable health issue within the community. The initiative is organized by the Delaware County Suicide Prevention and Awareness Task Force, which collaborates with various behavioral health organizations, medical societies, and local school districts.
Participants can choose between two main activities:
- 5K Run
- 5K Walk
The event takes place near Pavilions 11A and 11B within the park. Registered participants receive a synthetic fabric T-shirt, water, and snacks. Organizers provide medals for various age groups. The event proceeds regardless of weather conditions, taking place rain or shine.
The venue is located in Media, Pennsylvania, though specific GPS coordinates point near Gradyville Road in Newtown Square for easier access to the race site. Registration is available for individuals, teams of five or more, and student teams. Children under the age of 12 may participate for free.
