Del Dios Trail Race
Del Dios Trail Race, called "The Race of the Gods", is the 13th annual trail running event at Lake Hodges in Escondido, California. The event is scheduled for January 24, 2027, and features courses that use dirt service roads and single track trails. Elevation gain varies by distance, generally between 100 feet and 1000 feet.
A range of distances is offered:
- 50K 31.0 miles route on Strava
- Half Marathon 13.0 miles route on Strava
- 10K 6.1 miles route on Strava
- 5K 3.1 miles route on Strava
A new 2027 challenge, the Hercules DemiGod Challenge, requires participants to complete the Half Marathon, 10K, and 5K within five hours, starting with the half marathon and finishing with the 5K, to earn the Demigod medal. The event serves as a championship qualifier.
Packet pickup is scheduled before race day at two retail locations: Fleet Feet San Diego (5980 Village Way, San Diego) and Columbia Store (3209 Lionshead Ave, Carlsbad). Race day parking is in the Lake Hodges Boat Ramp parking lot; vehicles entering the gated park area must display a parking pass. Parking passes will be available in January 2027.
