DeKalb Corn Classic
The DeKalb Corn Classic is scheduled for September 27, 2026. The event marks the 46th running and is presented by First National Bank. Two race distances are offered:
- 10K
- 5K
The course begins and ends in Downtown DeKalb. The route passes through historical neighborhoods, follows the Kishwaukee River via Prairie Park, and goes through Northern Illinois University campus and Huskie Stadium. The finish is located at Van Buer Plaza, where a post race celebration is held.
On course entertainment includes the Black Tie Jazz Trio, NIU’s Huskie Marching Band, Banda, and a Steelband. The event program lists race weekend schedule items, packet pickup, parking, and an official cheer zone. Results, awards, photos, and volunteer and sponsorship information are part of the event offerings.
