Event Overview
The DeKalb Corn Classic is a running event taking place on September 27, 2026. It features two distances: a 10K race and a 5K race.
Race Route
The course begins and ends in Downtown DeKalb. The route takes participants through historical neighborhoods, along the Kishwaukee River via Prairie Park, and through the campus of Northern Illinois University (NIU), passing by Huskie Stadium. The finish line is in Van Buer Plaza.
On-Course Features
Live entertainment is provided along the route. Scheduled performers include the Black Tie Jazz Trio, the NIU Huskie Marching Band, a Banda group, and a Steelband.
Post-Race Activities
A Post Race Celebration is held in Van Buer Plaza following the event.
