Defend Your Friend 5K and Dog Festival
The Defend Your Friend 5K is an annual community event entering its 20th year in Lockbourne, Ohio. Held at Bank Run Metro Park, the event serves as a fundraiser to support animal cruelty investigations and rescue efforts across Franklin County. Participants can choose to participate in one primary distance:
- 5K Run/Walk
In addition to the athletic portion, the event includes a Dog Festival featuring various dog-centric vendors. This festival takes place following the start of the race and continues into the early afternoon. The gathering is designed to be friendly for both families and dogs, allowing participants to attend even if they do not intend to run or walk the full course.
The first 400 individuals to register for the event receive event T-shirts and swag bags. All proceeds from the registration fees are directed toward the work of humane agents who advocate for and rescue animals in need. The venue is located at 1570 Rohr Road within the Metro Park system.
