Deep Creek Trail Half Marathon
The Deep Creek Trail Half Marathon is a high altitude mountain trail event near Telluride. The course is approximately 13 miles, mostly singletrack. The route begins at the start of Last Dollar Road by the Telluride Regional Airport, follows Last Dollar Road to the Deep Creek Corral, then continues on singletrack through aspen-filled woods along the Deep Creek Trail and finishes in the Town of Telluride at Oak Street Park next to the courthouse.
The race is scheduled for September 26, 2026. The majority of the course is semi-technical single-track and participants should be prepared for alpine conditions and inclement weather.
Aid stations are stocked with water, tailwind, fruit, sweet and salty snacks, coke, and ginger ale. Aid Station 1 is intended as a water restock; Aid Station 2 offers a wider selection of food and snacks. Organizers plan radio communication at aid stations and will have local EMS on call.
A brief safety rundown is given before racing. Event staff aim to have volunteers with first aid supplies at aid stations; for serious issues a search and rescue response may be triggered. Recommended gear includes hydration, sun protection, and warm layers; the ability to be self sufficient on alpine trails is mandatory.
Parking and shuttle options are provided. Shuttles are available for purchase; parking is available at a lot near the finish or in long-term parking near the airport for those driving to the start. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
