Event Details
The Debbie Hopkins Memorial Run is held in Brunswick, Ohio. The event includes three distances: a chip-timed 5K Run/Walk, an untimed 1 Mile Walk (also called a Fun Run), and a 100 Yard Kids Dash for children aged 8 and under.
Registration and Fees
Registration and packet pick-up begin on race day. There is early packet pick-up available on Friday at Crestview Elementary School, which is also the race location.
- 5K Run/Walk: $30-$35, with a reduced fee for ages 9-13.
- 1 Mile Walk: $25-$30, with a reduced fee for ages 9-13.
- Kids Dash: $5 for ages 8 and under.
Race day registration prices are higher. A mailed entry option is available, with checks payable to Hermes Sports & Events.
Participant Information
All participants in the 5K and 1 Mile events receive a short-sleeved t-shirt and post-race refreshments. Kids Dash participants do not receive a shirt by default, but one can be purchased. Awards are given to the top two overall male and female finishers and the top two in each age group. Runners with dogs or strollers are asked to line up near the back.
Event Background
The event honors Debbie Hopkins, a long-time teacher at Crestview Elementary School. It is organized by Crestview Elementary School PTO and Passionate Educators, Inc. In addition to celebrating educational excellence, the 2026 event also has a theme of recognizing colon cancer survivors, with an option for affected participants to have a blue ribbon on their race bib.
