Death by Staircase Trail Running Festival
The event centers on a repeated loop of 3.8 mile trail that includes a very rugged section known as the staircase of death. That section climbs over 800 feet in less than a mile, descends the other side, and returns via a couple of faster, runnable miles back to the start.
The venue is the Overlook Trailhead parking lot by the Moreau beach, located at 605 Old Saratoga Road, Moreau, NY. Participants may run solo or join a relay team. Relay teams have no designated order or lap requirements; team members may divide laps in any manner.
Participants may run as many loops as they can within the event time frame. The event also offers a Fun Run option, where participants may run between one and three laps without time constraints and may space laps apart as they wish.
