Event Details

Death by Segment takes place in Spindale, North Carolina. The event is organized by the Spindale Burrito League.

Format

This is a running event with a unique "last man standing" style format. Participants repeatedly run a segment of 0.34 miles. The time between each segment run decreases throughout the event.

In the first hour, the segment must be run every 6 minutes. After each subsequent hour, this allowed time reduces by 1 minute. After the fourth hour, the time between segments caps at a minimum of 3 minutes. The race continues until only one person remains.
