Death By Segment

Death By Segment is a modified last man standing running event held on S Oak St in Spindale, NC. Participants repeat the same short course segment until only one runner remains.

Runners cover a 0.34 mile segment repeatedly. For the first hour the segment is run every 6 minutes. Each subsequent hour the time to complete the segment is reduced by 1 minute. After the fourth hour the allowed completion time is capped at 3 minutes.

The event pauses for 10 minutes every two hours to allow for restroom breaks. The competition ends when a single participant remains.
