About the race
Dead Horse Ultra takes place in Moab, Utah on November 14, 2026. The event is part of the Triple Crown of Moab series and is organized within the Run Moab race offerings.

The course uses the Magnificent Seven trail system and includes technical slickrock and rocky climbs. Runners traverse the Gemini Bridges Trail to Court Point, pass into Bride Canyon, and reach a 15 mile aid station before continuing on Bull Run Trail. The route provides repeated views of Arches National Park, the La Sal Mountains, and the Moab Valley.

- 50 Mile: lowest 4564 ft, highest 5797 ft, elevation gain 4895 ft, elevation loss 4892 ft.
- 50K: lowest 4560 ft, highest 5768 ft, elevation gain 2805 ft, elevation loss 2812 ft.
- 30K: lowest 4564 ft, highest 5131 ft, elevation gain 1729 ft, elevation loss 1729 ft.
- 15K: lowest 4564 ft, highest 5000 ft, elevation gain 932 ft, elevation loss 932 ft.
The event is cup-less; water dispensers are provided at the start/finish area and at every aid station so runners can fill bladders, bottles, or reusable cups. Packet pickup is held the day before and on race day; a photo ID is required to receive a packet and entries are non-transferable. Parking is organized at the Gemini Bridges trailhead with an overflow lot, a pedestrian path under the highway, and specific instructions for oversized vehicles. Runners receive a short sleeved race shirt, a BOCO Gear technical trucker, and a finishers' medal. Race photos are handled by an external photographer and are processed after the event.
