Deacon Dash for Down Syndrome

The Deacon Dash for Down Syndrome is scheduled for Saturday, March 21, 2026. It is the event's 9th annual occurrence and is a fundraising race to support the Down Syndrome Association of Greater Winston-Salem. The main race is a 5K with an added 0.11 mile, giving a total distance of 3.21 miles. A Fun Run is also offered.

Location and event details

The event takes place at the Winston-Salem Fairgrounds, Midway Area, 421 27th Street NW, Winston-Salem, NC 27105. Entrants are asked to enter the fairgrounds through Gate 5 off Deacon Boulevard and park in the Midway lot. Race day packet and t-shirt pickup are available at the fairgrounds off Shorefair Dr., Gate 7; a pre-race day pickup is listed as TBD. A downloadable sponsorship packet is provided by the organizer.

Fun Run
5K (3.21 miles total)

Registration fees listed are $21 for the Fun Run and $30 for the 5K, with prices increasing after January 30, 2026. A coupon code "DSParticipant26" allows registering an individual with Down syndrome to receive a t-shirt at no cost. The event shows $28 raised toward a $25,000 donation goal.
