DC Empower Walk & 5K

The Empower Walk & 5K Run takes place in Washington, DC, and serves as a gathering for the local autism community. Participants have the option to join the event as individual entrants or as members of a team. The event features two primary participation formats:

5K Run
Walk

The base of the event is located at Independence Avenue SW. In addition to the athletic portions of the day, the event grounds host a resource fair where various organizations and sponsors set up tents. This fair opens prior to the start of the physical activities and continues until late morning.

An opening ceremony is held for all participants before the 5K race and the walk begin simultaneously. Following the completion of the run, an awards ceremony is conducted to recognize the results of the 5K race.
