Day of the Tread 4K Community Fun Walk
The 4K Community Fun Walk is part of the Day of the Tread weekend and takes place in Albuquerque Old Town and the Sawmill District. The route begins and ends on 20th St NW and passes through sections of Old Town and the Sawmill District.
The walk coincides with the Old Town Dia de Los Muertos celebration and includes live music and spirit squads along the route. A costume contest is part of the event and all walkers receive the official Day of the Tread t-shirt. The event is presented by SUNWARD.
Packet pickup and a merchandise store for rides and walk events are available at Sawmill Market, with entry from the east side. The event benefits New Mexico non-profits, including Tread Setters Adaptive Cycling, a program of the Carrie Tingley Hospital Foundation.
The 4K Community Fun Walk is scheduled during the Day of the Tread dates of October 24 and October 25, 2026, as part of the weekend activities and post event gatherings at Sawmill Market. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
