The Day of The Dead 5K & 10k takes place on Sunday, October 25, 2026 in Fair Oaks, CA. The event is based at Wild Runners Fair Oaks, 10149 Fair Oaks Blvd. Packet pick up is available the day before, Saturday, October 24, 2026, and on race day at Wild Runners Fair Oaks. The event includes a post-race festival and expo, live music and performances, stilt walkers, a La Ofrenda for offerings such as photographs and flowers, and food vendors. All participants receive a bib, timing device, safety pins, a short-sleeved event shirt, a finisher medal, and a coupon for one free tamale redeemable at the post-event expo.

The 5k course begins in Old Fair Oaks Village with a half-mile downhill and bridge segment, continues on an out-and-back section along the American River Trail on paved roads and trails, and finishes with an approximate half-mile ascent back to the finish area. Awards include gift card prizes for overall top three male and female finishers and prizes for age-group top finishers. Kid race top finishers receive special prizes and other kid finishers receive medals. Rules note that bibs must be visible, no unregistered participants or bicycles, strollers are allowed, dogs are permitted on leash with a signed waiver, and no refunds are offered.
